12. Determining Championship

A.  Team rankings within the League will be decided by points with three (3) points to be awarded for a win and one (1) point for a drawn match. The teams gaining the highest number of points in their respective Divisions at the conclusion shall be adjudged the winners. Matches must not be played for double points.

(1).  In the event of two or more teams finishing with equal points, the team with the highest goal difference shall be adjudged the winner. If goal difference is the same, the team scoring the most goals will be adjudged the winner. In the event that two teams are still level, the Championship shall be decided by a single play-off match to be decided on penalties if scores are still level after extra-time. Teams finishing top of Regional Divisions shall be declared winners of that particular Division. The two teams finishing as winners of their respective Regional Divisions will also complete in a single playoff match to decide the overall winners of that section. The winners of the match will receive the Divisional Championship Shield only. Such play-off matches to be decide on penalties if scores are level after extra-time.

(2).  Clubs in each age-group will be placed in Divisions at the discretion of the Management Committee according to their expected playing strength in the descending order of Division A, B, C, and D. where circumstances dictate, Regional Divisions may also be formed at B,C, and D to accommodate a higher number of team entries in a given age-group. Divisions will be formed in accordance with Rule 1 (E).

B. 
(1).
  Teams finishing in the top two places in Divisions B, C and D shall be entitled to promotion to a higher division for the following season. For Regional Divisions, only the Regional winners will be entitled to promotion to a higher division. All other placings shall be at the discretion of Management Committee who will be guided by available vacancies, expected playing strength and the preference shown by teams on their application for membership form. Composition of Divisions for the new season will be advised to Clubs in July who will then have seven days in which to request a change of placing in writing ti the General Secretary. Such requests will be duly considered by the Management Committee but may be accepted or denied depending on the best interests of all teams. The Management Committee's decision will then be considered final. 

(2).  Where Clubs operate two teams in the same age group these will preferably be placed in separate divisions. For the purposes of player registration such teams will be considered as separate entities and normal transfer procedures will apply.

C.  In the event of a team withdrawing from the League during the course of the season, all points and goals for and against, shall be deleted and all monies confiscated. Any team withdrawing from the League may be barred from the competition in the next higher age-group for the following season at the discretion of the Management Committee.

D.  Not applicable to the Bexley & District Junior Football League.
